Let's listen to a story accompanied by Vivaldi's Spring in this classical music appreciation class for young kids. Also, reenact parts of different characters, play games, and make crafts.

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
Beginner Level
In the first part of the class, students will listen to a made-up story about a Little Tree that wanted to grow leaves. The story will be accompanied by Vivaldi's Spring (from Four Seasons). I will invite students to reenact different story scenes with the music. In the second part of the class, students will make an open-ended craft inspired by the story and the music. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE LIST OF MATERIALS NEEDED FOR THE CRAFT. ALSO, PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT FOR THE CRAFT PORTION...
As students listen to Vivaldi's music, they will practice using their imagination. They will also learn who Vivaldi was and what composers do. During the craft time, children will exercise their fine motor skills and will be encouraged to use their creativity.
Materials for the craft: 1. a twig shaped like small tree 2. 6-7 thin short sticks (optional) 3. clay or play dough in in various colors including white 4. colorful feathers OR an old greeting card 5. a cardboard cutout circle about 5 inches diameter (optional) 6. an old gift card OR a cardboard rectangle the size of a gift card 7. scissors
Parental Guidance is required for younger students (ages 4-5) and recommended for older ones (ages 6-7) due to the use of scissors and other materials. Thank you.
