Class Experience

Welcome to writing class! I believe each and every learner can begin to enjoy writing when the approach is mentorship and writing their own way! We learn in a relaxed environment and through interactive slides on Nearpod.com. There is a free app for Nearpod, should you choose.

THIS CLASS FEATURES 2 PRESENTATIONS. Students will work for 5 weeks on an assignment and then present their findings or opinions to the class. IF YOUR CHILD IS UNABLE TO PRESENT THEIR FINDINGS, THEY ARE ABLE TO SUBMIT A VIDEO FOR THEIR PRESENTATION. Due to my tight schedule, I am unable to offer make-up sections of presentations. I encourage students to use all kinds of presentation materials including but not limited to posters, Google Slides, or other options. Students will receive rubrics with scores on them from their work. If you need something more than this for your homeschool, please let me know.

All of my extra information is stored inside our classroom bitmoji class! You will have access to it during the course.

I recommend you begin with semester 1, and then take semester 2, however, it is not required. Semester 1 can be found here: https://outschool.com/online-classes?age=10&order=upcoming&startAfter=AllUpcoming&q=ms%20becky#usPai1TGLE

Hello Learners!

My name is Ms. Becky and I LOVE teaching on Outschool! I am an avid Nintendo Switch player (Animal Crossing and Mario games, mostly) and my other hobbies include reading, writing, knitting, and hiking!

I spent 10 years teaching in a public school setting and loved every single minute of it! While I miss teaching in person, I LOVE teaching with Outschool and meeting learners this way! Sometimes learners take multiple sections with me and I love learning even more about them!

I believe every single learner has value and something to add! So I prefer to only mute students when there's excessive background noises or interruptions. Students learn best when they feel engaged and connected to the material and teacher! Even though some of my classes are a little more rigorous, I try and have fun! No one wants to sit through a boring class! Myself included!

I thrive on positivity around me, and hope my learners enjoy the positive teaching approach! I love using educational technology, so you might see me screen cast in gaming classes, and I LOVE using Nearpod in my educational classes. I'll be sure that you get information on it before class starts! Occasionally I use YouTube videos (mine or others) to help students understand content.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! I try to check emails daily, but that doesn't always work! I teach multiple sections every day AND have my kids home with me! I appreciate patience in getting back to you as soon as I can!

I hope to see your learners in class soon!
Ms. Becky
