Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 8
Beginner Level
Welcome to the book club! I love reading classic stories and wanted to share my love of reading with students.

This will be a class with a lot of discussion. I am a homeschooling mom to 3 out of my 4 children. We are very much a Charlotte Mason style homeschooling family and we have learned so much through reading and discovering.

This will be a 18-week class where we will be reading classic book in various genres that are found in the public domain. Learners will need to read ahead of time and spend the class discussing what we learned. Comprehension questions will be provided along with fun activities they can complete if they wish.

If a learner needs to have something for transcripts or credit, please let me know as I can create worksheets for them to fill out. It will also allow them to have work shown so an evaluator or other person who needs to see it will have that available. A spring semester will also be available.

Each book will vary in length. This semester's book list is a whole semester that encompasses various genres.

Here is the booklist:
1. Around the World in 80 Days
2. Johnny Tremain
3. Sherlock Holmes
4. Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH

Learners may also obtain their own copy of the book from other places like Amazon, Target, etc... It will need to be the unabridged version.

Learning Goals

Learners will engage in discussions of books as we read through them and answer comprehension questions.
