Description

Class Experience

I have been running book clubs in person and online for over 10 years. I have experience working with students ages 8 and up and approach all topics in an age-appropriate way. If students need to be redirected, I will do that. I always listen to students and their opinions making them feel heard and appreciated for their thoughts.
The students will need to read the books prior to each meeting and come to class prepared to discuss.
Families are responsible for getting the books for their students. Books students will need access to are: Week 1 - A Rover's Story (https://amzn.to/3SMzx8n) Week 2 - Notorious (https://amzn.to/3fWyVhG) Week 3 - Playing Through the Turnaround (https://amzn.to/3CjWdWD) Week 4 - The Girl in White (https://amzn.to/3CFrPau) Week 5 - MiNRS (https://amzn.to/3Mlo4ua) Week 6 - Coop Knows the Scoop (https://amzn.to/3CILQwP) Week 7 - Windswept (https://amzn.to/3ypKnZC) Week 8 - The Stitchers (https://amzn.to/3fQvtoX) Week 9 - Dragon Pearl (https://amzn.to/3CIdry5) Week 10 - The Pear Affair (https://amzn.to/3T8FRXo) Week 11 - Two Degrees (https://amzn.to/3T9HT9E) Week 12 - The Ash House (https://amzn.to/3EthXlE) Week 13 - Daniel Coldstar: The Relic War (https://amzn.to/3SLmuEj) Week 14 - Ali Cross (https://amzn.to/3RHJUc5) Week 15 - Simon Sort of Says (https://amzn.to/3rHF8Rs) Week 16 - Mine (https://amzn.to/3fQvbhR) Please note links are affiliate.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
Books should be pre-read by parents if you have any concerns about content. Reviews can also be found on Common Sense Media, Amazon, Goodreads, Kirkus, and The School Library Journal. All of the books are classified as middle grade and should be on target for most families. Content warnings:
