Description
Class Experience
In this beginners class, the students will learn that prefixes are letter(s) that are added to the beginning of a root of a word and suffixes are letter(s) that are added to the end of a root of a word. Then, they will be able to increase their vocabulary by learning the meanings of several common prefixes and suffixes.
My experience has been that once students understand the meanings of many common prefixes and suffixes, their vocabulary skills can improve greatly.
Homework is optional. However, the students might enjoying finding additional words that are made up of the prefixes and suffixes covered in class.
Please have the students come prepared. A few sheets of paper and a couple of pencils are recommended.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
