Spring Into Art! A Step by Step Colorful Spring Picture from Start to Finish
Students will draw, outline with sharpie marker, and color a spring themed picture.
What's included
1 live meeting
1 hrs 30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
To begin, we will all get acquainted with an introductory exercise. We will all share our names, and what our favorite color is (or a similar question). We will then draft our picture with pencil using basic shapes to create the bigger picture. When the pencil sketch is done, students will trace over their work with a black Sharpie marker, and then erase any lingering pencil marks when they've finished tracing. Finally, we will color in our drawing with crayon using all the colors of the rainbow. The final touch will be a light layer of chalk pastel applied gently to the background.
Learning Goals
Through the process of creativity, young learners will cultivate their fine motor skills, master their shapes, learn the colors of the rainbow, and develop patience.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello All! I'm Ms. Brooke, and I teach a variety of art and art history courses. I earned my M.A in Art History from The University of California, Irvine and, though my research mainly focused on art conservation, my background is in art and museum education with students ages four and up. I have done art all of my life, and I am a firm believer that, when it comes to art, we learn the rules in order to break them! Just ask Picasso! I look forward to learning, engaging, and creating together!
