Spring Creative Writing: Design Your Own Acrostic Poem

In this class learners will learn the names of the typical spring time flowers such as the crocus, daffodil, tulip, bluebell and lily of the valley and birds such as swallow, robin, woodpecker, songbirds, tits and wrens. We will briefly discuss some of the beautiful spring sights around the world such as the sakura cherry blossoms in Japan and learners will be encouraged to share what spring looks like in their hometown. Everyone will then write and illustrate their own acrostic poem for the word 'spring'. An example is below: Spring is here Pretty flowers grow Robins come out to play I feed the birds New animals are born Got to find Easter eggs Please bring a piece of paper and some colour pens to class! This class will be interactive and learners will be encouraged to keep their cameras and mic on.

My name is Maya and I graduated from the University of Oxford with a geography degree in 2013. Since then I have worked in the humanitarian sector for the British Red Cross and worked as a private tutor around the world. I am grateful that I can share my academic interests on Outschool and meet curious learners from around the world.
