In this group class, your student will learn to play the ukulele for beginners. Students will be guided in producing sounds, learning to read music, learning note names and learning chords. Students will get to sing and play fun and recognizable songs. The instructor will help students learn to strum to a steady beat and basic strumming patterns. Watch your student grow as a musician in this fun beginner course. Students do not need experience. We will be learning and growing together. In each session students will be learning and reviewing: tuning, names of strings, note names, strumming to beat, hand placement, chords, moving between chords and playing songs. We will be learning a minimum of 4 chords in this course. C, F, G7, Am . These 4 chords are very common chords that are used in familiar pop songs. These first 4 chords will help jump start your students ukulele career. We will get to practice moving between each chord and eventually play these chords together within different songs. Week Breakdown Day 1: Learning the strings of the ukulele, strumming on open strings, learning chord see, playing our first song. Day 2: Review from day 1, learn chord F, practice two chords together, play songs , talk about note values Day 3: Review from day 2, learn chord Am, practice moving between these 3 chords, play songs Day 4: Review, learn chord G7, practice chord G7 a lot, play some songs Day 5: Continue to practice chord G7, play some more songs! Students can ask questions during class or anytime after. I am here to help your student enjoy playing the Ukulele
