Here's a breakdown of where we're headed, and a few of the things we'll experience: Day 1: Mexico Discover the secrets of Dia de los Muertos Learn to make tortillas Visit the ancient ruins of the Yucatan and swim in the hidden world of underground rivers Day 2: China Find out what strange ingredient can be found in the Great Wall of China and how much a panda...
On Day 4 of camp the students will be given a homework assignment to complete after class. They will be asked to create a brochure, video, or poster promoting a country of their choice. They can choose from one of the four countries we've studied, or another that they're passionate about. If students are uneasy about presenting, that's ok! Those that want to share will be encouraged to do so.
2 files available upon enrollmentOn day 2 we will learn how to write our names in Chinese. Please have a paper and pen or pencil ready. On day 4 students will be making a boomerang and will need to bring: a print out of the boomerang tracer in the attached file cereal box a pencil scissors Also, the homework assignment on day 4 may require some materials. This is up to your student and what they would like to use.
