**Homework: On this day the students will be given a homework assignment to complete after class. They will be asked to create a brochure, video, or poster promoting a country of their choice. They can choose from one of the four countries we've studied, or another that they're passionate about. If students are uneasy about presenting, that's ok! Those that want to share will be encouraged to do so.

Day 5: Final Day
Students will present their projects
We'll play "Travel the World Jeopardy" to finish off a fun week of learning!

Important:
In this class we use an additional website called Nearpod. This tool allows for a high level of engagement between all members of the class and subject matter. Your child is going to love it! If you've never used Nearpod please read the instructions carefully and contact me if there is any confusion. You will want to ensure your child is set up correctly as we get started in class.

Nearpod Instructions:
Enter the zoom classroom through Outschool.com as usual. At the beginning of the lesson, I will paste the link to the Nearpod classroom in the zoom chat. Copy and paste the link into a new browser and the lesson will open in Nearpod. You can also go to www.nearpod.com and enter the classroom code or download and use the nearpod app. It's very user friendly. You will want to have zoom open in one window and Nearpod open in another window. I recommend using a laptop, chrome book or other device where you can have 2 browsers open (or even a second device!). If a student is only using a phone, it will be difficult to participate with both zoom and Nearpod at the same time. If you have questions about Nearpod please contact me prior to class and I can help.

I try to bring all of this into the classroom.

I'm a huge believer in fostering joy in my students and helping them realize the world beyond their own. I bring interactive activities and incorporate exciting experiences into my lessons. My goal is to take my students on a journey to discover new truths while working on various academic skills and critical thinking. I use stories, themes and challenges to craft meaningful and engaging lessons. My two sons are my inspiration for many of my lessons. They help me create experiences that kids love and want to participate in. In my online classroom we'll work on many different skills such as writing, reading, critical thinking, math and science. We do it all in fun and exciting ways that have the kids wanting more. Online learning can be the best kind! Come join me to find out how!
