We will learn about how mixtures can be separated by filtering out individual components. We will also discuss how this technique is used in real life. The instructor will first review the content behind the experiment with a combination of lecture, video clips, and visuals. Then students will get to conduct (or watch if they do not have the materials) their own chromatography investigation. After the main experiment, we will also create color art using milk, dish soap, and food coloring. If students do not have all of the listed materials, they are still welcome to watch and learn how to conduct the experiments.
