I will be showing the students how to calculate batting average, on-base percentage, and earned run average. Each topic will be presented one by one with examples that I do and examples that each learner can do. The students will interact with me by asking questions and making observations while doing the calculations. They will need a calculator; the one on the computer is sufficient.
Learning Goals
The learners will learn how to calculate batting average, on-base percentage, and earned run average. However, the primary objective is to show the learners there are interesting and useful applications for the math they are learning. A secondary objective is go provide the learner with more experience dividing on a calculator and rounding.
