Class Experience

In this one-time class, we will learn and practice hockey stickhandling and passing techniques.

This will be an active class where learners will follow the teacher's movements. We will introduce ourselves, complete a warm-up and go through a variety of stickhandling drills. This class is appropriate for beginners as well as learners with some hockey experience! The learner will require a hockey stick 1-2 inches above or below their chin as well as a hockey specific ball (a golf or tennis ball can also be used). Please make sure the learner has room to move as well as an approrpiate surface to stickhandle on (carpet, yoga mat, etc).

I grew up playing competitive ice hockey and played varisty ice hockey for my univeristy. I look forward to sharing my stickhandling knowledge!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello and welcome to my Outshcool profile,

My name is Emily Davies and I have been an online instructor for 2 years. I hold a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University - ranked 2nd best university in Canada and 30th internationally. In addition to completing a challenging program, I played for the women's varsity ice hockey team. Upon graduating, I worked in administration, operations, event planning and marketing capacities, in the for-profit and non-profit sectors, before finding my passion for teaching!

My classes revolve around topics I am passionate about like athletics, early childhood education, languages (English/French), travel and business. My classes are high-energy, interactive and inclusive.

When I am not teaching, you can find me playing hockey, reading, running, cooking and traveling the world with my partner and dog.

I am so excited to see you in my classroom!
