Class Experience

Dust the cobwebs away! In this one-time class, students will become Halloween chefs as they make a spooky popcorn treat. Great for class parties or just for your own haunted house. First we will go over the recipe together. Then students will follow the steps to make the popcorn treat using the microwave – no stove or oven required. As the teacher, I will be making the recipe along with the students, providing visual and verbal guidance. As a class, we will discuss favorite popcorn flavors, candy, and more. Asking questions and commenting are encouraged! No prior experience is needed for this class, but a basic knowledge of kitchen equipment will be helpful. Students will need access to a microwave.
While this class has a fun Halloween theme, we will not be doing anything scary.
Learning Goals
Students will practice the skills of following a recipe, sequencing, requesting help as needed, and fine motor skills of stirring and pouring ingredients.
