Spooky Halloween Skull Witch : Polymer Clay Art Sculpture
Class experience
This class is designed for learners who already know the very basics of working with polymer clay. In this class, we will work together to learn the steps needed to create each portion of our witch figurine. Different camera views will be used to show each step of the way. We will condition, cut, roll and form our pieces. Then we will assemble the parts and get them prepared to be baked after class is over. I will go over how to add shading using chalk(soft) pastels. The supplies are listed...
This class is taught in English.
Sculpting Medium (any brand/type you prefer. I like to use Sculpey Polymer Clay). *A little clay goes a LONG way in miniature sculpting! Basic Sculpting tools, toothpick, smoothing tool, large ball dotting tool (for eye sockets) A cutting tool (can be flat spatula, clay knife, anything that you are comfortable with using) A non stick surface to work on (You can cover a piece of cardboard with parchment paper and tape it to the bottom…that works) A small rolling pin or paintbrush handle or anything smooth to roll out small pieces of clay. Clay colors: Black, White and whatever colors you want for your hair and accessories) Black Soft pastel (Chalk pastel) and a Q-tip type cotton swab or small paint brush OPTIONAL: If using baked clay: Clear Water based gloss glaze for after baking (I use Sculpey Gloss Glaze). I will go over how to lacquer the clay after baking if the students want a professional, glossy finished look.
**Polymer clay requires baking according to the package direction. (Generally ~275 °F, depending on your brand of clay). You will bake after class. Parental help is necessary.
