In this one-day class, students will learn vocabulary associated with Genetics and calculate probability of genetic crosses using Punnett Squares with a Halloween theme.
Class experience
US Grade 5 - 7
Students will learn basic Genetic vocabulary such as dominant, recessive, homozygous and heterozygous and learn how to predict probability of genetic crosses by working Punnett Squares. All of the examples that we work through will have a Halloween theme. An example of this would be to calculate a vampire's probability of passing on a widow's peak to his offspring.
