I provide a writing checklist and give feedback on the checklist for each learner.Class Experience
Spooky sounds, oozing slime, creepy characters, ah! How fun to write about! Can you frighten your readers? On day 1, we will talk about some of our favorite spooky stories and ideas. I will also read a spooky story example to get our brains sparking with ideas! Then, we will see the prompt choices and talk about ideas for our own stories. These spooky prompts vary and can be written or picture based. The written prompts are story starters such as, "One full moon night..." and picture prompts are spooky pictures that we use our imagination to form a story about. On day 2, we will take a look into the elements and parts that make up a scary/spooky story. You will also have time to outline and begin writing your story based on the prompt. On day 3, we will have share time! This will be the class time we celebrate your creativity and hear your spooky story! While this is a fun quick, short story - it is nice to have guidelines and feedback! I do provide a checklist to guide learners with their writing and I will also give feedback using this checklist. Class Outline: Day 1: Discuss our favorite spooky stories and read a spooky story example, topic choices Day 2: Discuss elements and parts of a spooky story, begin outline/writing time Day 3: Share your own! Possible topics/prompts: written prompts such as: "One day I heard a strange sound..." or spooky picture prompts Please, check the schedule for available times. If there is not an available time that works for you, please request a different time. If you have any questions, please send me a message. Thank you!
