In this ongoing, weekly class, students will receive a list of ten spelling words each week and correlating assignments. Aside from spelling, emphasis will be placed on phonics, correct pronunciation, writing, and word usage. Students will be encouraged to speak. Students will learn the proper spelling of words, correct pronunciation, and word usage as well as synonyms and bonus words to expand their vocabulary.
I have been an ESL teacher for 3.5 years. I enjoy working with young students introducing them to the world of reading. I am an avid reader myself. I believe information is the great equalizer. Researchers tell us when students can read well they can accomplish so much more. It all starts with good spelling. My teaching style is patient, engaging and interactive. I work very hard to engage each student individually during class. I have a Master’s in counseling and am in the dissertation phase of a Doctorate in Education. Please see my full biography under my information.
Homework is assigned throughout the week.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
