Splendid Spelling by Syllables: 5th Grade Words
Class experience
In this class students will spell words provided by the teacher that will vary each time this course is scheduled. We will count the syllables before spelling each word that helps with pronouncing and visualizing how words are spelled. Spelling well is an important skill to have and good to continue to improve on. The words that will be used were obtained from a list of 5th grade spelling words. We will use auditory, visual and social techniques to learn as a group. We will practice and spell...
The goal is to provide an environment were students feel comfortable to spell and learn together. Each student will spell words they are familiar with and/or new words. Seeing and hearing helps encourage our memory to visualize and memorize how words are spelled correctly. This course also teaches great group work by taking turns, practicing patience and helping each other. I encourage every child to spell each word and take notes.
Optional: Paper and pencil to write down the words that can help some kids more with their spelling process. Also, for taking notes of words to review after the course.
