Spinning Tales

For those who have started spinning, this weekly social class we practise and pick up tips on spinning and fibre crafts, develop projects, chat and like times gone by, sometimes tell tales as we craft. All fibre crafts are welcome.

Class Experience

Students will become confident in spinning and fibre crafts
Students will take on fibre related projects and share them with their peers.
Students will engage in conversation with their peers
I have been spinning for more than six years and regularly teach spinning as part of my in person historic workshops. In truth I don't remember when I first picked up a fibre related project, from having a lamb in our backyard when I was in kindergarten to delving into the mysteries of sprang as an adult fibre and textiles have been part of my life and I have experience in most aspects.

I am also a storyteller and will be bringing a wealth of experience and tales to the class.
There will be no homework assigned however learners may continue spinning or fibre project in their own time.
Spindle Fleece e.g. other providers can be found online or in person.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
As a social class the learner will be encouraged to engage with the group and receive support on their fibre projects.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
