Class experience
In this one-time class, the student will learn basic facts about spiders. "Spider" starts with the letter S and has 8 legs. We will incorporate letter recognition, letter sound, and number 8 into our time together. The student will have the opportunity to write the letter S, number 8, and draw a spider. We will read Eric Carle's The Very Busy Spider to explore fun, fictional literature. We will enjoy counting spiders and spider legs. I like to take topics of interest to the student and...
Students will learn that spiders are not insects. They are arachnids. The student will practice counting to number 8 at a 1:1 ratio as we count spider legs. Students will practice recognizing letter S. Students will practice making the sound of the letter S.
1 file available upon enrollmentRecommended: A small white board and black marker or paper and black marker or crayon. I will be using a small whiteboard in class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
