Class Experience
The learners will learn long vowel spelling patterns. Each week we will learn a different vowel pattern through videos and games. Mondays: I will post a teacher-made video to discuss the long vowel patterns for that week. The video will be hosted on YouTube. There will also be a tic-tac-toe sheet of 9 different activities to practice the spelling words of the week. Be the first to complete 3 of the 9 activities to win! The tic-tac-toe game sheet will be due on Thursday. Tuesdays: I will post a digital word sort the learners may use to practice each spelling word pattern. Wednesdays: Let's make spelling fun! I will post 2 games the learners can play. Some will be individual and others will be team events. The learner only has to choose one game but can play both if they wish to do so. The games will be hosted on Nearpod and Kahoot. Thursdays: Check-in day - I will see if the students need any help or have any questions and learners will need to have uploaded their bingo sheet by today. Fridays: Spelling bee game hosted in the Outschool classroom. I will give each learner 4 words to spell by using the record feature in the classroom. I will upload the spelling words by 9:00 a.m. central time. Each student needs to record themselves spelling each of the 4 words. They may use the record feature in the classroom or record themselves on another device then upload the file. Sometimes the file may have to be hosted on Google Drive or YouTube in order to be shared in the classroom. The learners will have all weekend to send their spelling bee recordings. If more time is needed please let me know.
