Class Experience

In this on-going class, learners will receive a new list of spelling words each week and will practice reading, writing, and spelling them. Each word list is based on one of 15 important phonics rules! Studies have shown that children with strong phonological awareness can use their understanding of letters and sounds as a foundation to spell increasing challenging words.

Class Structure:
-Interactive mini lesson introducing the phonics rule of the week
- Word identification of the words that follow the phonics rule
- Introduction of the week's spelling words that follow the phonics rule
- Practice reading, writing, and verbally spelling the words on the spelling list aloud using the free printable OR pencil and paper if access to a printer is limited.
- Spelling game (varied week by week) to practice spelling the words from memory!
