Spelling and Phonics Fun | Phonemic Awareness, Vocabulary, and Spelling Course for Ages 5-8
In this ongoing course, students will be invited to "make words" and in doing so, learn more about letters, spelling, and letter sounds (phonics). (ESL students welcome!)

Class Experience

Please send me a message upon enrolling and I will process your refund!* Who doesn't love a good guessing game? In this fun and interactive class, students will become word detectives. In each class, children will be given a set of letters and an opportunity to discover more about letter-sound relationships and how these relationships work...
Students will practice spelling patterns. Students will discover letter-sound relationships (phonics). Students will build vocabulary. Students will use new words in sentences to reinforce meanings.
Additional practice activities are provided for continued learning, but are optional.
Please bring 10 notecards, a marker, or magnetic letters to class. Alternatively, students may write their words out on paper or a white board.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will be assessed by the teacher through observation. Feedback will be written and sent to parents or posted in the classroom after class concludes which will include achieved goals and suggested next steps.
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
The Kahoot! Platform is used for continued practice, but is not used during class time, and is optional.
