Class Experience
As a teacher specialising in Learning Difficulties, I have an extensive repertoire of resources to draw from. In this class, I will provide a one on one session with your child to determine what they know and what they need to learn, in terms of phonemic awareness and spelling patterns and rules which greatly influences their competency in both writing and decoding in reading. This class is taught in English.
The student will become aware of the phonemic elements and spelling patterns they are familiar with and those they need to work on. Parents and caregivers will be able to use the assessment to plan the future direction of their child’s learning journey.
My teaching roles have included the following: Experienced Senior Teacher Support Teacher Literacy and Numeracy Special Education Teacher Classroom Teacher Adult Literacy and Numeracy Teacher Early Childhood Teacher
Homework will not be assigned as this will be a one time assessment class
If you would like me to look at your child's use of punctuation, grammar and text features, please send a handwritten sample of the student's writing before class
A written report with a summation of strengths and weaknesses in spelling and phonemic knowledge and application and recommendations for further study will be formulated and forwarded to parents/caregivers after the class.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
