One reason behind the confusing spelling of some words is that English borrows from different languages. But recognizing spelling patterns can reduce all the mystery and frustration. Here, learners learn English spelling rules that every learner should know. When learners first look at a word they are unsure of how it's spelled, it seems complicated, but after some practice, learners soon realize it's not as bad as it looks, especially after learning the spelling rule, practicing and applying it. And that's why learners come to Spell Like a Champion ~ Learn Spelling Secrets - Part B [Self-Paced Class] to uncover those secrets and become a confident speller. Spell Like a Champion ~ Learn Spelling Secrets - Part B [Self-Paced Class] is the second of a five part series spelling course. Over five weeks, learners are given spelling rules and exercises to complete each week. Put in the work, the time, practice, memorize and apply the rules taught, and learners will become a confident speller. Spell Like a Champion ~ Learn Spelling Secrets - Part B [Self-Paced Class] can be repeated as much as needed to grasp all the spelling rule concepts. Once these rules are understood and the learner can apply them in their every day school life, writing and every day experiences, learners are encouraged to continue to Part C next [then D-E ] to follow. Don't remain a challenged speller. Engage in each course and become a confident speller today. Learners can begin at any time and take the classes A-E as often as desired. Parts A-E are self-contained and can be taken in any order. It is highly recommended that learners complete all five courses. Teacher expertise and credentials
Master's Degree in Education from Indiana University
I am a retired public school Principal who has taught and written curriculum for grades K-12 in all subject areas. I have taught learners from grades K-12, Special needs learners, adults, ESL learners from several countries it seems for most of my life. Teaching children is what I love to do! And teaching learners of all ages to read, write and spell is foundational to success and is my passion. I personally love spelling and enjoyed spelling competitions since I was a little girl. Trust me, I practiced my spelling list / words and made sure I got an A+ on each test. So when faced with competition, I was ready!
I love to work with children in all subject area [reading, writing, science, cooking to name a few] but teaching them to read, write and spell are my favorite. Seeing the "lights" come on as a learner "gets it," understands the spelling rule and WHY words are spelled as they are is what I love most and love being a part of that experience is so very gratifying.
I am very happy to be teaching on the Outschool platform and look forward to my passion for reading, writing and spelling, in particular, rubbing off on your learner.
