I am a retired public school Principal who has taught and written curriculum for grades K-12 in all subject areas. I have taught learners from grades K-12, Special needs learners, adults, ESL learners from several countries it seems for most of my life. Teaching children is what I love to do! And teaching learners of all ages to read, write and spell is foundational to success and is my passion. I personally love spelling and enjoyed spelling competitions since I was a little girl. Trust me, I practiced my spelling list / words and made sure I got an A+ on each test. So when faced with competition, I was ready! I love to work with children in all subject area [reading, writing, science, cooking to name a few] but teaching them to read, write and spell are my favorite. Seeing the "lights" come on as a learner "gets it," understands the spelling rule and WHY words are spelled as they are is what I love most and love being a part of that experience is so very gratifying. I am very happy to be teaching on the Outschool platform and look forward to my passion for reading, writing and spelling, in particular, rubbing off on your learner.

Frequency: includedFeedback: includedDetails: This is a self-paced curriculum. The learner is free to complete these lessons at their own pace. Homework for the learner would be a review of their notes taken/written in their dedicated Spelling Notebook, review of the Activities and exercises given in specific lessons and studying the spelling of vocabulary words, the rule and its application. This is done at the learner's pace throughout this course. It is highly recommended that the learner review each lesson a couple of times during the week and repeat Part A as many times as needed before moving on to Part B.Assessment

Parents, some lessons may use outside resources to compliment lessons. Learners do not need an account to access the different activities, exercises, worksheets or games. Access is provided through my account. Accounts could include: •NearPod •WordWall
Nearpod.com and Wordwall.com are used in a number of Spell Like a Champion ~ Learn Spelling Secrets classes. Learners will be given the link and a code in class so they're able to participate in the activities that relate to a particular lesson.
