Class Experience
US Grade 4 - 7
This class will help students learn to speak by projecting themselves and communicating with self-esteem. Students will work on the appropriate pitch, tone, volume, rate of speech, and conveying emotion. Students will learn to use appropriate eye contact, vocal range, volume, and how to exude confidence through expression. Students will learn the appropriate posture to speak. We will also discuss diaphragmatic breathing for adequate breath support. We will practice by reading words, sentences, stories, and/or speeches. Please note that this is a class and not therapy.

Hi, I’m Doreen—a doctoral-level speech-language pathologist and ACE Educator with a passion for helping children and teens thrive socially.
Since 2020, I’ve taught over one thousand learners on Outschool through engaging, inclusive social skills classes designed to build confidence, connection, and real-world communication.
With over nine years of experience specializing in social communication, I’ve supported neurodiverse learners, including those with Autism, ADHD, learning differences, anxiety, and more. I also work extensively with homeschooling families looking for structured, expert-led social learning in a safe and supportive environment.
While my background is as a licensed speech-language pathologist, my Outschool classes are educational and not therapeutic in nature. Due to licensing regulations and Outschool’s policies, I do not provide speech-language therapy services on this platform.
My classes are evidence-based, interactive, and tailored to meet students where they are—while gently helping them grow.
