In this exciting discussion-based 5 session class, will expand on the basic principals of chemistry. This course is designed for learners who have either studied chemistry or really enjoy chemical concepts. Prior exposure and study of chemistry at the basic level is recommended. Specifically, leaners will explore general areas of chemistry in more depth and width. The discussion oriented class session will allow the learner an opportunity to research a chemistry topic and present findings to the class, if they chose. #academic Here is a brief schedule of each week. Week 1: Nuclear Chemistry - Powerful Power! Week 2: Organic Chemistry - Compounds of Life! Week 3: Material Chemistry - Science of Making Things, Cool Things. Week 4: Astrochemistry - What Cosmic Dust Tell Us about Us! Week 5: Precious Elements - How Rare Elements are the New Oil! Optional Research: Learners will give the opportunity to research an area of interest and present to the class. The goal of learner research is to build research and speaking skills.

I am a middle school and high school science teacher with 10 years of experience. Additionally, I am a homeschooling dad of 13 years who has four kids that are four different types of learners.
I have the privilege to teach many subject areas, but chemistry is my favorite as it applies to all other areas of science. My opinion is that if a student understands major chemical concepts, other sciences become more clear.
I hold a MS and BS in the natural sciences.
