Class experience

Our experienced teachers have worked with special needs learners for a combination of over 20+ years. Each teacher will provide an ideal virtual classroom in a quiet area while providing activities to help engage the learners along with any accommodations necessary for a successful class. Each teacher will also take the time prior to class to read over any notes provided by parents on the learners' strengths/best methods for learning and prepare additional classroom tools and requested accommodations.
Mr. Pel currently works at a youth center working with special needs students on a regular basis. He works with children with ADD, ADHS, multiple sclerosis, cognitive delay, autism, OCD, ODD and nonverbal learners. To assist with learner communication, the use of written responses and TPR are used to help.
Ms. Chan has volunteered with children with special needs since she was in grade school. She has worked in the educational settings with learners in middle school with but not limited to IDD, cognitive delay, ASD, Down syndrome and nonverbal learners. She assisted learners with daily assignments and social skill building. She used TPR, written, and drawings as support systems of communication for learners.
Mrs. Ameanna has worked with IDD students in an educational setting for 2+ years. She worked for an alternative day program for IDD children and also taught in the classroom with ages 12-21 years old. She supported them with activities that focused on any and every topic: social skill building, reading, writing, communication and community skills etc. She was a social worker at the Department of Human Services in the adolescent unit, her team was IDD focused for children between the ages of 10-18 years old. She uses ASL and physical responses, written or drawn responses to assist with communication.
Ms. Davanh has worked for 3+ years in the educational settings with children with ASD and nonverbal learners. She utilized the use of physical responses and basic ASL to support learners.
Mrs. Terry has a son that’s 16 years old and has special needs and is also nonverbal. She has helped to support him in developing his abilities to communicate with others, daily life and social skills, and has helped him succeed in his educational needs. She utilizes ASL, written/drawn communication, and physical responses to support learning and communication success.
