Students in this social class will have the opportunity to practice their social skills, develop new friendships, and enhance their communication skills with peers. During class we will sing songs, discuss the weather, and do special activities related to that week’s theme (such as show and tell, scavenger hunt, chants and rhymes). This class is taught in English.
I have four years of experience as a certified speech-language pathologist in general education elementary and middle schools, a separate special education day school, and speech therapy private practice. I have taught communication and social skills to students with varying disabilities in individual and group settings.
Occasionally, paper and pen/pencil may be used in class.
