I will provide a fun handout for students to continue on practicing their speaking skills after this class is over.Class Experience
In this one-time class, students will learn how to confidently express themselves. We will play games and take part in drills that increase quick-thinking skills, and communication skills. We will also learn about the right body language we need when speaking in public along with practicing eye contact. This class will start with a quick icebreaker where we will introduce ourselves. Next, we will do a fun warm-up that will increase confidence and prepare the students to speak for the rest of the class. We will also discuss posture and eye contact before we start. I will then guide students with fun speaking drills and games. Next, I will introduce debate rules and we will have a fun teacher versus students debate about the topics "Should teachers be replaced by robots?" and "Should kids get longer recesses?" Debate rules will be presented through PowerPoint slides. I will also keep a scoreboard between teachers and students. Once the debate is over, I will ask a few impromptu questions to each student. The maximum capacity for this class is 5 students. I always ensure that everyone gets an equal opportunity to speak in my classes. Also, this class is open to all learners. I like to implement my learning for everyone. If you believe that your child performs better with a special teaching style or technique, please feel free to message me and let me know.

A warm welcome to you! My name is Aasiyah (Aa-see-yah) and a short form for it is Siya (see-ya). I go by the gender pronoun of she/her. I am a certified communication and confidence coach and I am beyond excited to share my expertise with you!
I believe that the best education you can give a child is the education of building confidence, emotional intelligence and communication skills. I believe that these life skills are important for all ages and even more valuable than subjects taught in school. This is exactly why I do what I do. I believe confidence exists in every child and I act as a catalyst to help them find it and strengthen it. My aim is to enable each child to reach their highest potential.
Good communication skills and confidence is more than just a skill. It is a mindset and a lifestyle. Having healthy communication strategies helps children better their mental health, hold more positive relationships, be more empathetic and take on challenges in a much easier way. This is why I always provide a holistic approach in my teachings. Each child has their own unique needs and this is why I always provide individualized lesson plans and teachings to my students.
In addition to being a confidence and communications coach, I also hold a degree in psycholinguistics from The University of Toronto. Secondly, I am a Mental Health and Addictions student. I have over 8 years of experience working with children of all kinds. Also, I am a certified emotional intelligence practitioner, public speaking facilitator, mindfulness practitioner and an acceptance and commitment therapy practitioner. I also hold a TESOL certificate and teach online English to students in China.
Philosophy:
I am a strong believer in "learning through play". This is why you will notice that my classes are always filled with fun learning games. I also make my classes as interactive as possible, where kids can role-play situations that can be applicable in real life. Lastly, I take high priority on providing my students with a safe and comfortable place where they can be themselves and grow.
