In this course, students will learn the basic principles for effective speaking and practice speaking with awareness.
Class experience
In this class, learners will examine effective and less than effective speaking strategies. Students will receive a basic review of English grammar regarding subject-verb agreement, proper pronunciation, and filler words. Additionally, concepts such as posture, eye contact, tone, pace, and emphasis will be covered as students work to present a response to an engaging topic. Students will learn the basic methods for effective speaking including pronunciation, filler words, body language, tone, pace, and structure. Students will also learn to identify positive and constructive methods of speech while actively listening.
As the instructor for this course, I have completed a college course on public speaking. I have also utilized public speaking as an educator in a classroom for online presentation. I have years of experience presenting arguments and delivering content in effective ways.
