**40-Minute Lesson Structure to Enhance Learners' Vocabulary Through Their Reading Experience** (Wordly Wise 3000) **Introduction (3 minutes): Exchange greetings and have learners share about their day/week. Present the selected reading material suitable for B1 level. **Vocabulary Review (15 minutes): Introduce key vocabulary words, idioms, and phrasal verbs. To enhance understanding of the literature, supplementary videos, definitions, synonyms, and antonyms may be provided. **Interactive Speaking Through Reading (20 minutes): Have learners read the text aloud, pausing periodically for comprehension checks with open-ended questions to stimulate critical thinking and personal interpretations. Occasionally, learners may re-read the text uninterrupted to solidify comprehension. (Alternatively, the teacher can read aloud while students follow along to demonstrate pronunciation and intonation.) **Wrap-Up (2 minutes): Discuss learners' favorite parts of the story, illustrations they liked, or memorable quotes to encourage reflection.

Hello everyone,
Thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Michelle, and I'm so excited to join the Outschool community! Although I am originally from South Korea, I was born and raised in the US, Switzerland, and Dubai (UAE). I began teaching in 2008 when I volunteered at international schools and colleges in Mongolia and Indonesia, teaching introductory courses in marketing, management, and English. The experience was incredible, and the students were absolutely amazing.
Since 2017, I have taught at international schools in South Korea, working with students aged four to sixteen. My teaching subjects include English, Science, Social Studies, and Geography. My two core teaching philosophies are:
1) Valuing each student’s learning style: I prioritize patience and understanding of each individual's culture and learning progress, making each student feel valued, and fostering a supportive community in our virtual classroom.
2) Making learning a fun journey: I am passionate about working with kids and love what I do. I focus on building rapport with my students to make learning a joyful and engaging experience.
