Teacher expertise and credentials
Master's Degree in Education from University of North Alabama
I am a parent of a child who was diagnosed with high functioning autism when she was 8 years old. She is now 26 years old. I have a passion for helping children in the autistic spectrum reach individual goals. I have a Master's Degree in elementary education. I led a support group for parents of children in the autistic spectrum for almost three years. I have also had experience teaching social skills classes to children in the autistic spectrum. I have attended an Autism/Asperger Conference and a Sensory Processing Disorder and Young Children workshop. As a parent of a child in the autistic spectrum, I have learned a lot about helping my child learn socialization skills and conversational skills on a daily basis, and I would be honored to work with your child to help them practice everyday speaking and listening skills.
