US Grade 7 - 10
Discover the art of public speaking – learn, prepare, and present 5 different types of speeches in this 10-week course. In each 50-minute class, students will learn tips and tricks to gain confidence when speaking to an audience while delving deeper into the delivery of longer speeches and debate. Weekly icebreaker activities will introduce students to a new type of speech in a fun and engaging way. These fast paced, group activities will provide opportunities to improve impromptu speaking and listening skills. In addition, each week the students will present a speech to the group that they have researched and developed. The students will have time to begin these projects in class but must complete the speech and practice for homework. In the final week, students will put all their skills to use with improvisational speech activities.
