In this two day, introductory course to public speaking students will learn about the power of speech. They will learn why people engage in public speaking and what makes a good speech. They will be given practical exercises to help with their own public speaking. They will have the opportunity to speak a lot during class. Due to the nature of the class cameras need to be on. We will focus on the voice and body and engage in games associated with public speaking to help students engage in a less intimidating way. This is a fantastic class for shy students that need an introduction on how to appear more confident and eloquent when speaking.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of non-verbal communication and its importance in public speaking. They will also have a deeper understanding of how to appear more confident when speaking.
