Speak Now! How to Effectively Write a Speech

In order to effectively write a speech, you have to know your purpose, audience, and length.  In this class, we go over each of these areas.  Then, we delve into how to write the speech by considering why are you writing it, what is your message, and what do you want to be the take away for the audience.  We do not actually write the speech in this class.  However, if a student writes their speech and sends it to me via the classroom, I will read it and give constructive feedback.  This class is of the most benefit if the learner is willing to be interactive as we discuss the individual points. A sample of an effective speech will be viewed and discussed.  I will teach to one learner.  Class Rules:  We mute so that we do not talk over one another, we are kind and respectful to everyone, and we raise our hand if we have a question or comment.  As per Outschool rules, the camera must be turned on at the beginning of class so that I may verify the learner.
