What's included
1 live meeting
45 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
The student will be introduced to languages of the world while learning how to give basic greetings and farewells in five languages (Spanish, Arabic, French, German, and Chinese). 1. At the end of the lesson, the student will be able to say “Hello” in five languages: “Hola, Marhaban (مرحبا), Bonjour, Guten Tag, Nǐ hǎo (你好)”. 2. At the end of the lesson, the student will be able to say “Goodbye” in five languages: “adios, ma‛a salamah (مَعَ ٱلسَّلَامَة ), Au revoir, Auf Wiedersehen (owf vee-der-say-en), Zàijiàn (再见)”. We will begin class with a fun video, then learn the greetings & farewells (hellos & goodbyes) in each language by going through a slide presentation. Afterward, we will create flashcards to drill ourselves and classmates, then play a spinning wheel game online together. I use a wide range of teaching styles throughout my courses, depending on the type of class, information, and student ability. For this particular class, I will be using a ‘demonstration-style’ of teaching, in which the information will be introduced. Students will be given plenty of time to truly gain the knowledge through practice, repetition, and by playing games with the other students, as well as listening to the words used in a variety of ways (through the use of videos & other audio sources). We will practice together as a class, flashcards will be created, then we will play games & wrap up the class with a simple, online quiz, which will give students immediate feedback. All video links, games, and other links used during the class will be shared with students so they may continue to practice their language skills even after class has ended. *No previous experience or knowledge is required for learners.
