Mrs. Hernandez - I have a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Northeastern Illinois University, a Master’s in Education from University of Phoenix, and Doctorate (in progress) from Aurora University. I teach K-12, elementary, middle school, and high school levels. Mrs. Llaneza is a native Spanish speaker and has ample experience teaching Spanish to young students.
No homework will be assigned for this class. I only encourage students and families to welcome and include the Spanish language by making connections in their daily lives as often as possible while watching, listening to and participating in the world around them.
Learner progress will be assessed daily during each lesson as the teacher sees and hears that the student has become independent in reciting the information learned during the calendar routine. Students will be able to ask and answer questions in both languages. Students will have individual turns to demonstrate progress and understanding. Parents can also assess their own child's progress as they become more independent during their participation in class as well as how they are using learned information outside of class.
2 hours 5 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
