1-2 hours per week. There will be one page of homework each week.Class Experience
No experience necessary. You can start anytime; we will continuously practice what has been learned in previous weeks. To start each meeting we will practice greetings, and to end we will sing the goodbye song or practice different ways to say goodbye. As we build vocabulary, students will learn short sentences using the vocabulary words. We will use games, worksheets, booklets, songs and dances. But don't worry, I won't make your student sing and dance if they don't enjoy that. Subjects include greetings, parts of the body, emotions, numbers, colors, months of the year, days of the week, food, clothing, shapes, seasons, the house, school items, animals and more. *Please note that you will be required to print a page most days* Schedule is subject to change. Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from University of Puerto Rico
As a Montessori guide I teach every subject to my students. I'm most passionate about Social Studies (geography, history and culture), science, and music and art appreciation. I also enjoy teaching Spanish, reading, practical life skills, cooking, and dance. I have a bachelor's degree in Theater from the University of Puerto Rico, where I joined the traveling theater troupe and appeared on many TV commercials. At the age of 16 I was already a professional backup dancer for many pop singers in the island. I was able to travel the world and truly enjoyed learning about different cultures. When I moved to Florida with my husband, I became a dance and theater teacher. But when our son was born, I switched to Montessori, since that was the philosophy and education I was raised in. I got certified in 2014 by AMS, the American Montessori Society, as an early childhood guide (Ages 3-6) and in 2022 by NAMC as a lower elementary guide (Ages 6-9). I also immersed my self in Conscious Discipline and giftedness. I always make sure to follow the child.
