Description

Class Experience

-Students will grow in confidence with each week’s vocabulary
-Over time, students will have an understanding of key verbs in Spanish!
I am licensed to teach K-12 Spanish and have a total of 7 years of experience. I have taught students ranging in age from 2-20 in groups of 1-15. I've taught in a private academy as well as in-home classes for homeschoolers.

I utilize a wonderful method for learning Spanish called TPRS- Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling. I participated in two trainings in the summer of 2020, and I’m more ready than ever to help your child get “strong and healthy” in the highly used Spanish words (especially verbs)!

We learn the vocabulary using ASL. I am not licensed to teach ASL, but my son is hard of hearing and we are learning ASL together as a family. I don't know ASL grammar, but ASL signs are used when learning the vocabulary in place of random (albeit logical) hand gestures.
All enrolled learners receive free on-demand access to silly and engaging Spanish music videos made for Spanish learners! www.senorwooly.com
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
At the end of each class, I will administer an informal assessment of the topics in order to review.
Throughout class, I use informal assessments to check student understanding
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
A Señor Wooly video will be used to reinforce the day’s key verb- the videos are fun, silly, and appropriate.
