Description
Class Experience
Who is this class for? This class is for beginner to intermediate learners of Spanish who would like to work on speaking, writing, and reading skills. Lesson Objectives: The purpose of this camp is to help students increase language proficiency in a contextualized setting. Students will learn how to describe characters (physical characteristics, personality traits, and more!), talk/write about the plot of a story, and learn vocabulary pertaining to the story (vocabulary covered will depend...
This class is taught in Spanish.
The goals of this camp are to practice conversation skills, learn vocabulary and grammatical structures as they pertain to the story, encourage student engagement and creativity, and practice writing skills.
I have been teaching Spanish in a public school for 5 years. I taught middle school and high school Spanish levels I and II. I have also taught 1 year of ESL in public school, and have been teaching English online for the past 6 months. In my Spanish classes I strive to make the content as engaging as possible in order to encourage student participation. My lessons always incorporate story-telling because I want students to see and hear how language is used in context, rather than deconstructing the language through grammar concepts. I am excited to bring this unique teaching method to the Outschool platform.
There is no homework for this class but students are encouraged to review the story details in between sessions.
For this class students will need blank computer paper and a writing utensil. When we draw the characters, students will need drawing utensils such as colored pencils, markers, etc.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
The sources for this class is your learner's brain! I will give suggestions to guide conversation, but it is ultimately the students who will be deciding on the story details.
