In this class you will learn about the Spanish stem-changing verbs in the present tense. We go over the 4 main forms (and take a sneak peak at a few more uncommonly taught stem changers). We focus on verbs used in introductory and Spanish I classes. I will go through the details of each type of stem changer, ways to remember them and verbs that go in each group. I give you study strategies to help you remember the groups and the verbs that go in those groups. We will color code our way through my "stem changing triangle" level by level. We discuss the topic as we go through detailed slides and then practice using these verbs. Learners should know and be comfortable with the subject pronouns, the conjugation chart and how to conjugate regular stem changing verbs.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hola everyone! My name is Bobbie Sutton and my classes focus mostly on Spanish grammar topics. I have been a Spanish teacher for 21 years. In addition to Spanish I have also taught music and wilderness survival. I have a Master's Degree in Inclusive Education and a Bachelor's in Spanish Language and Literature and Secondary Education. I hold current teaching licenses in New York and Virginia. I love traveling and attended school in the USA, Mexico, Spain, Guatemala and Peru. I believe that all kids can learn. It may be on a different timeline or in a different manner than their peers but that is perfectly OK. Encouraging people to become lifelong learners is my goal. When I am not teaching I love to do outdoor activities like gardening, zip-lining and jumping from planes!
