Description
Class Experience
In this ongoing class we will increase our Spanish vocabulary through stories written, illustrated and narrated by Maestra Zia. Each week we will focus on a set of new vocabulary words which we will see in action within our story and get to practice in class. Class time will consist of vocabulary review (spelling, pronunciation and examples) and a visual story time along with some time for discussion and a grammar component (verbs). -Learners will acquire new vocabulary -Learners will perfect pronunciation -Learners will interact in Spanish with each other -Learners will cultivate an appreciation for stories in other languages -Learners will explore simple sintax and grammar, as well as translation.
Maestra Zia is a native Spanish speaker and has two degrees from the University of Puerto Rico. She lived on the island for over 20 years and has worked with the Department of Education there teaching children from Kindergarten through High school. She has also successfully raised fully bilingual children of her own. Maestra Zia greatly enjoys providing simultaneous interpretation for the Hispanic and English-speaking community where she lives.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
