-This class is designed to encourage young readers to commit and follow through on finishing a Spanish chapter book while delving into insightful conversations about the content with peers. Las Aventuras de Txano y Oscar is a book series about two young boys who often find themselves immersed in adventure. Txano has a great sense of humor and Oscar has a knack for getting into trouble. -Learners will read each chapter at home independently and then join the live meetings where we will discuss what was read. Students should come to each meeting prepared to converse about the chapters in the order stated below. Week 1 : Introducción & Hola Me Llamo Txano Week 2: El Lago de los Osos & Un Meteorito Explosivo Week 3: ¡Vaya Susto! & Una Merecida Bronca Week 4 : Esperando una Sorpresa & Un Cazador de Meteoritos Week 5: Una Antigua Fotografía & Una Nueva Amiga Week 6: Voces en Mi Cabeza & Cazando Estrellas Fugaces Week 7: ¿Qué Nos Está Pasando? & Una Vieja Historia Rusa Week 8: Una Explosión & Dos Telépatas Más During each meeting the teacher will lead a time of discussion pertaining to the chapters that were assigned. We will cover the following criteria: -first impressions -a summary of the assigned reading -questions to verify that the assigned reading was done -questions for reading comprehension -discussions for analysis/critical thinking skills ⭐ Students will be in charge of one personal exploration activity per week . Learning Goals
-Students will commit to and finish a whole book: El Soñador.
-Students will encourage each other through classroom interaction and by working as a team toward the end goal of finishing the book as a class.
-Students will understand the characters, plot, setting and overall theme of the book through class discussions.
-Students will be inspired to continue reading Spanish books on their own.

Bachelor's Degree in Education from University of Puerto Rico
Teacher Zia is an avid reader. She is native Spanish speaker who has taught with the Department of Education in Puerto Rico and also has two college degrees from the University of Puerto Rico.
