Students will improve Spanish vocabulary, pronunciation, speaking, reading and listening skills; and foster a sense of community.
👩🏻🏫❤️I am a certified and experienced elementary school teacher. I continue teaching children ages 4-9 in the public school system. ❤️🪴🌳The activities offered in my classroom help children transition from one part of the day to the next. My students feel involved as they learn important skills; like taking turns to speak, and listening to others. Children who take part in this course, will discover that learning can be fun and exciting, as they practise and improve their Spanish and make new friends. 🎵🎤🧐 Singing is a valuable teaching tool and an integral part of my lessons since I have found that learning a new concept through a song can be more enjoyable for children. Using songs has helped my learners improve their listening skills and pronunciation; and has been useful for teaching vocabulary and sentence structures. Music offers many advantages for learning languages. Studies have shown that listening to a song and humming along can help with language learning! Listening to music also helps with memorisation because singing new words makes them easier to remember. And oh yes... I love to sing!
📄🖨❗️From time to time, I will provide handouts that we will complete during class. I will send these handouts the day before class so learners can come prepared. ✄📄🖍We occasionally do cut and paste, and colouring activities in class. When we do, I will send out a message to remind students of the supplies they will need. i.e. scissors, glue, crayons/markers. ⭐️⭐️IMPORTANT NOTICE - PLEASE READ!⭐️⭐️ Please take a few minutes to watch the following video on how your learner can draw on the screen while we are in class. This is an important feature to know, so that class for your learner can be more interactive and fun! Formative assessment of student's learning will take place through interactive games.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

Due to this, please make sure your learner has plenty of space, comfortable footwear and a water bottle if needed. ✄📄 We will also be completing some cut and paste activities where the use of scissors is required.
