During our safari adventure, we will explore Spanish letters names, letter sounds ( A - K ), numbers (1-5), colors, and shapes! This class will follow an I do, we do, you do approach. This will be a small group environment that will allow your child to get lots of individual support with Spanish. Your child does not need to have any prior knowledge of this course. We will take our time and give your child lots of vocabulary support along the way. As a mom who is teaching her own child Spanish I understand that the process takes time and the value of a second language. We will meet for 4 weeks in order to patiently develop our language skills. Your child will have the opportunity to interact with others his/her age and build fundamental social skills that are extremely valuable for any growing learner. Feel free to bring your favorite Safari stuffed animal to class! I hope to see your child in class and look forward to getting to know your student. I am an award-winning, certified teacher in Texas with eleven years of classroom experience teaching all subjects from Early Childhood to 4th grade. I also, hold a Masters in Education which allows me to educate students from early childhood to 12th grade. Much of my undergraduate work was in marginalized communities, as I received my degree in Mexican American studies with a minor in Sociology. I have experience working with students with disabilities, gifted learners, and students with a primary language other than English. My son came to me through adoption and he's the greatest gift I have. I will teach your child with lots of love and respect while taking each opportunity to extend learning.
