In this ongoing class, each week learners will learn the words of a popular children's song in Spanish. The songs they will learn are simple with a familiar tune, helping them to memorize the words and phrases more easily. There is no need for the learner to have previous or current experience in Spanish class. This class is great for learners of all levels. Students will increase Spanish vocabulary by learning how to sing familiar songs in Spanish.
I am bilingual in English and Spanish. I started learning Spanish in High School, taking 2 years of Spanish classes in High School and 1 year of Spanish classes at DePaul University. Those classes helped me to build a great foundation in reading fluently in Spanish and speaking the language. For the past 20 years, I have immersed myself in the Spanish language and culture. Most native Spanish speakers are amazed when they hear me read and speak Spanish because they say I do so without an English accent. I love to teach others how to read Spanish, as I know from experience that's the best way to learn the language! I have been teaching Spanish classes virtually for the past 2 years. Many students who have taken my class did not know any Spanish at first and by the end of the school year can now confidently read in Spanish and hold a basic conversation.
20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
As time permits, I may show a YouTube video of the song in screenshare only.
