The goal is to initiate the students to reading in a foreign language for fun. The will learn new vocabulary and grammar and I hope this little short story encourages to continue to read in Spanish on their own!
I am a Spanish native speaker, but I have also had to master another language. So, I understand how difficult it is to improve your language skills. Through my years teaching Spanish and learning other languages, I have developed several useful tools to help you improve quickly. One of the most important aspects of learning a language is to read in the foreign language. Reading allows the students to learn sentence structure, vocabulary, and grammar. It is a great way to improve a language in an independent way. However, when the students feel overwhelmed about the amount of words they don't understand, they give up. This class intends to address that problem and overcome future fears about reading in a foreign language.
Homework Offered
There will be written assignments, questions, and many interactive activities to practice during the week. While the homework is optional, it's a key element to complete for a more successful experience.2 - 4 hours per week outside of class
